Mike Strickland. Born and raised in Canada, Mike left his homeland to experience the adventures of creating in the beauty of the Jungle. Mike was on a quest for a more meaningful place to live and thrive, he now calls Ojochal home. Encouraged by the opportunity to design and build with intention and in-partnership – with the Land, its People, its Bountiful Nature and its Visitors.

With over 22 years of experience in the construction field, holding various positions and titles along the way, all of which have enabled him to accelerate his craft to the next level, Mike offers a high level of creativity, innovation and attention-to-detail that has quickly become sought-after in the Costa Rican southern zone modern build industry.

iBUILD’s mission is to design, build and co-create dwellings, with intention that evoke emotion. We craft luxurious and state of the art custom built and designed homes that are highly functional and sustainable. And we do this through conscious relationships and partnerships.

Inspired by international and global cutting-edge building techniques, designs and products, Mike’s appreciation for finer, more contemporary details are truly evident in every project he spearheads. On the other hand, Mike will be pouring considerable energy into establishing the vitally important connections between home-buying clients and the local architects, designers, and master craftsmen responsible for delivering the vision. It’s the realisation of a dream for Mike, a Canadian born and raised construction project visionary with more than two decades of experience turning blueprints into incomparable residential properties through professional stewardship of the relationships required to make that happen.

The lush, tropical Costa Rican landscape has always had its allure for Mike, whose wanderlust moved him to leave Canada as a young man with sights set on exploring and creating in the incomparable environs of the jungle. Being enamoured by the land, its people, and its bountiful nature was so inspirational that Mike now calls Ojochal his home. His vast knowledge of the area is foundational to his iBUILD Costa Rica mission, at the core of which is a goal to custom craft luxurious, state of the art, meticulously built, and exquisitely appointed homes that are highly functional and fully sustainable.
